Seniors Sam Johnson and Grant Walker were named Academic All-State by the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association. And the 2022 Proctor Rails baseball team was one of 11 Class AA teams state-wide to earn the MSHSBCA's Academic All-State Gold award for the highest standard of academic excellence.
"We have a proud tradition of academic excellence in this baseball program," said Coach Bush. "It's one of those things that are just expected of our players. I am so proud of our team for getting it done in the classroom and on the field, and for being such good people. I don't have much to do with it other than taking the time to submit the nominations, but how incredibly special it is that now with Sam and Grant added to the list we've had nine players earn Academic All-State in my four years as head coach. These are the things for which coaches are allowed to boast about their players."
During Bush's tenure as head coach, Proctor earned the Academic All-State Bronze award in 2019, the Silver award in 2021, and the Gold award in 2022.
