Ron Main passed away in his home on August 26, 2021. He is survived by his wife, Christine (Bunty) Main; daughters, Lisa Lefebvre and Kristi Kanne (Jeff, the World's Greatest son-in-law); nieces, and nephews. Ron was born in Duluth and graduated from Proctor high school. He attended Augsburg University, enlisted in the Army, then returned to Augsburg to earn a degree in English Literature and Physical Education. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota, earning a M.A. and a PhD. He was a teacher and administrator at Columbia Heights and continued in administration at Armstrong High School in Robbinsdale. Upon retirement from education, he continued work for Ameriprise as well as Augsburg University's Development Department. Ron was an avid athlete and lifelong Gopher and Auggie fan. He was kind hearted, humorous and his generosity knew no limits. At his bequest his body was gifted to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Program. A gathering for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, at the Lakewood Garden Mausoleum 3300 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, MN. Memorial preferred to Augsburg's Athletic A Club or the Animal Humane Society.
