HIBBING, Minn. -- Shane Gould connected for a walk-off RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Proctor over Superior, 9-8, in a non-conference baseball game in Hibbing's Mike Bugliosi Wood Bat Tournament. Evan Scherber scored from third base on the hit. Scherber, who reached base on a fielder's choice, got to third when he advanced two bases on an errant pick-off throw.

The game was a see-saw affair; Superior scored four runs in the fifth to tie the score at 5-5 only to see Proctor score three in the bottom of the fifth, and then Superior scored three in the top of the seventh to tie the score at 8-8.

Proctor's offense was led by Matt Morris (2-for-4 with a double and two runs), Joe Carter (2-for-3 with a double, a run, two RBIs, and a stolen base), Cody Lewis (1-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs), Reid Morin (2-for-2 with a run), and John Aase (3-for-4 with an RBI).

Matt Tracey (1-0, 7.87 ERA), earned the win in relief of starter Cade Hella. Both made their varsity pitching debuts. Tracey worked two-and-two-thirds innings and allowed three runs on seven hits. He had no walks and no strikeouts. Hella allowed five runs on seven hits, five walks, and two hit batsmen with one strikeout in four-and-one-third innings.
