HIBBING -- Michael Gales tossed a complete game shutout and Matt Sievert connected for a two-run double in the top of the sixth inning to lift Proctor over Thief River Falls/Goodridge, 2-0, in a non-conference baseball game Saturday morning in the Mike Bugliosi Wood Bat Tournament at Hibbing's historic Al Nyberg Field.

Gales (3-2 W-L, 1.52 ERA) allowed three hits and no walks. He had six strikeouts.

In the sixth, Proctor's Reid Morin walked with one out and Jake Malec singled, extending his hit streak to 14 consecutive games. Sievert, batting with two outs, hit a gap double scoring Morin from second and Malec from first base.

Hard-luck losing pitcher Chris Sanders went the distance for the Prowlers. He allowed two runs on five hits and five walks with 10 strikeouts.

Morin, Malec, Matt Morris, Sievert, and John Aase had Proctor's hits. Nate Holecek, Carsen Retka, and Sanders each recorded singles for TRF/G.

Proctor, now 9-6, snapped a four-game losing streak. The Rails faced Hibbing on Saturday afternoon to conclude the tournament.
