PROCTOR -- Proctor defeated Two Harbors, 12-1, in a non-conference baseball game at Terry Egerdahl Memorial Field. The game was called in the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule.

Winning pitcher Michael Gales (2-1 W-L, 1.12 ERA) went the distance and allowed one unearned run on three hits and no walks with one strikeout. Gales threw 53 pitches in five innings.

John Aase and Jake Malec led Proctor's offense. Aase was three-for-three with two triples, a run, and five RBIs. His two triples is tied for second place in state records for triples in a game. Malec was also three-for-three. He had a double, two runs, and an RBI. Malec became the 14th player in PHS history known to record 50 or more hits. He is now at 52.

Also getting in on the Rails' hit parade were Nathan Carlson, Dylan Pionk, Matt Morris, Brandt Forstrom, Matt Tracey, Brian Tracey, and [Evan O'Connor], with one hit apiece. Pionk had two runs and two RBIs, Morris had two runs and an RBI, Forstrom had a run and an RBI, Matt Tracey had a double and a run, Brian Tracey had a run and an RBI, and O'Connor collected his first varsity hit.

Losing pitcher Kyler Kinn worked one inning and allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts. Kinn was one-for-two with an RBI for the Agates.

Proctor, now 8-2, hosts Superior on Tues., May 5.
