Kerr slams home 8 RBI

Clayton Kerr hit two home runs -- one a grand slam, drove in eight runs and went 4 for 4 at the plate Friday to power the East baseball team to a 16-4 rout of Proctor in a game that went six innings under the 10-run rule.

Kerr, whose other homer was a solo, had almost half of the Greyhounds' total hit production; they had 10.

Fred Rudman pitched a four-hitter and struck out five while evening the Greyhounds' record a 1-1 in the Lake Superior Conference and in all games.

 

Rail nine can't win for losing

Losing pitcher Mike Grover [L, 0-3] was the victim of 12 Rail errors as the Duluth East Greyhounds defeated the Rails in football-like weather in Proctor. Mike Hudspith drove in a run with a double as did Jerry Daleiden with a triple.
