Silver Bay's 7th-inning rally tips Proctor
Dusty McMillen drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh inning, forcing in the winning run as Silver Bay edged Proctor 8-7 Tuesday in a Lake Superior Conference high school baseball game at Silver Bay.
The Mariners led 4-0 after five innings, but Proctor rallied with four runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to take a 7-4 lead. Silver Bay answered with four runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Craig Frericks hit a double and a two-run home run, his fifth homer of the season, for the Mariners, 5-3. Todd Perfetto also had two hits.
Frericks started for Silver Bay and pitched five scoreless innings. Brent Mellesmoen picked up the win in relief.
Eric Kindgren had a single and a homer for Proctor, 2-3. Scott Larson and Kerry Helquist added two hits apiece.
