Kent helps Rails ease past Broncos

Jon Kent struck out six batters in seven innings and Charlie Habermann hit two doubles as Proctor beat International Falls 7-2 in a high school baseball game Saturday in International Falls.

Jeff Plahuta went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for I-Falls.

Rails beat defending section champs Mora 9-8

...But Jon Kent was just getting warmed up. Saturday found Kent taking the mound at International Falls as the Rails beat the Broncos 7-2. Kent went all seven innings, striking out six and allowing seven hits with one walk. Faced with several pressured moments, Kent rose to the challenge, to the dismay of the home crowd at I-F. Proctor hitting starred Tim Nylund, who went 2-for-3 at the plate, and Charlie Habermann, who hit two doubles in four attempts at bat.
