PROCTOR -- Proctor batters knocked out 18 hits, including two triples by Cody Dolsen and Ryan McCarthy's second grand slam of the season, as Proctor defeated Esko in a non-conference baseball game at Proctor. The game was shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule. Each of Proctor's starting nine had at least one hit.
 
Dolsen paced Proctor with three hits. McCarthy, Tyler Pionk, Jimmy Merling, Jesse Scanlon, and Justin Scanlon had two hits apiece. McCarthy had five RBIs, and Ian Scherber had three RBIs.
 
Winning pitcher Nick Nylund (1-0, 7.00 ERA) worked three innings. He allowed three earned runs on four hits, four walks, and a hit batsman. He had four strikeouts. Jack Nikko pitched two innings of scoreless relief.
 
Max Reinertsen had two hits for Esko.
 
Proctor is now 7-0 and travels to Superior tomorrow for a Lake Superior Conference game.

RAILS NOTES: Tyler Pionk hit two doubles and now has 16 in his prep career, breaking the previous PHS record of 15 set by Kyle Wojtysiak from 2002-05... Justin Scanlon recorded the 50th hit of his prep career, becoming the seventh PHS player to have 50 or more career hits... Pat Everson recorded the 10th double of his career, becoming the sixth player in PHS history to record 10 or more career doubles.
