Proctor stops Silver Bay 3-1

SILVER BAY -- Proctor's bats came alive in the sixth inning, backing Bill Richardson's two-hitter with three runs as the Rails beat Silver Bay 3-1 Wednesday.
Steve Ohme doubled and Scott Pionk and Matt Downs added singles as the Rails, 7-2, scored all of their runs with one out in the sixth.
Neil Mellesmoen took the loss for the Mariners, 4-6.

 

Bay nine edged twice but bounce back

... The next day the Bay played host to highly rated region 7AA power Proctor.
Both pitchers, Mellesmoen for the Bay and Bill Richardson of Proctor did fine jobs pitching as both entered the sixth inning with shutouts. Proctor scored all three of their runs in the inning.
A walk, two singles, and a double led to the Rails' scoring binge. The Bay added their only run in the sixth also, as Troy Paulseth scored after reaching base on a fielder's choice.
Brian Johnson singled Paulseth home with the Bay's only run, making the final score 3-1 Rails. ...
