PROCTOR -- Proctor defeated Eveleth-Gilbert 13-3 in a non-conference baseball game shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule at Terry Egerdahl Memorial Field. Jimmy Merling's two hits put him in a first-place tie with Ryan McCarthy (2012) for the most career hits in PHS history, with 89.

Jack Nikko (1-1, 4.20 ERA) was the winning pitcher. Nikko allowed three unearned runs on seven hits in four innings. He had three strikeouts and did not walk a batter.

Merling was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Ben Nelson was 3-for-4 with a run and four RBIs. Paul Hegstrom was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Evan Scherber was 1-for-2 with three runs. Joe Carter was 1-for-1 with three runs and an RBI, and Nikko was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.
