AURORA -- Proctor defeated Mesabi East, 8-5, in a non-conference baseball game on Saturday, April 24. The Rails, trailing 5-4, rallied for four runs in the sixth to secure the victory.

Winning pitcher Kennan Reyelts tossed a complete game. He allowed five runs, all unearned, on 11 hits and zero walks with five strikeouts.

Proctor took a 2-0 lead in the first on a solo home run by Tanner Olson and an RBI double by Nolan McLeod. Blake Imhoff added an RBI single in the second for a 3-0 score, but Charlie Karish's two-run single in the bottom of the inning cut into the lead.

Henry DePew's RBI single tied the score in the third.

Reyelts' fifth-inning RBI single put Proctor ahead, 4-3, but the lead did not last long. The Giants plated two runs in the fifth, on RBI singles by Kaden Maki and Karish.

Jake Amendola led off the top of the sixth with a triple. He scored the tying run on Wyatt Okstad's RBI single. Okstad advanced to second on Conner Pavlowich's walk before Mesabi East replaced starting pitcher Karish with Hayden Soular. Soular induced a fielder's choice ground out which advanced Okstad to third. Olson then walked to load the bases and Reyelts also drew a walk which pushed Okstad across for the go-ahead run. McLeod then connected for a two-run single that capped the scoring as Reyelts finished by retiring the side in order in the sixth and seventh innings.

McLeod was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI and Reyelts and Okstad had two hits apiece.

Karish batted 3-for-4 with three RBI and DePew was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Karish took the loss. He allowed six runs on seven hits and four walks with six strikeouts.

Proctor, 2-1, is back in action on Tuesday, April 27, in a doubleheader at Hermantown.
