SUPERIOR -- Superior defeated Proctor, 6-1, in a Lake Superior Conference baseball game here on Wednesday. The Spartans capitalized with five unearned runs in the first inning, which included a three-run triple by Tucker Johnson.

Nick Terhaar took the loss in his varsity debut. He allowed six runs (one earned) on six hits and five walks with zero strikeouts in four innings. Tanner Ross retired the side in order in both of his relief innings. He had two strikeouts.

Conner Pavlowich scored the Rails' run on AJ Reyelts' RBI single in the sixth.

Proctor, 3-4, is back in action on Thursday, May 6, at Cloquet. The Rails finish the week by hosting Crosby-Ironton on Friday and International Falls on Saturday.
