DULUTH -- Proctor defeated Duluth Marshall, 3-2 in nine innings, in the quarterfinals of the Section 7AA Playoffs at Bulldog Park on Thursday, June 3.

Conner Pavlowich smacked a double over the left fielder's head with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning which plated Nick Terhaar from first base for the walk-off victory after two extra frames.

Jake Amendola (4-1 W-L, 4.04 ERA) pitched all nine innings for the win. He allowed two runs on eight hits, zero walks, and one hit batsman. He had three strikeouts.

The Hilltoppers scored first; they plated two runs on four hits in the second inning. Quentin Roth got the big hit, a two-run single with two outs.

Proctor cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second as Nolan McLeod doubled and scored on an RBI single by Blake Imhoff.

Proctor tied the score in the sixth. Tanner Olson led off with a single and stole second. After two outs, he was replaced by courtesy runner Wyatt Okstad. Okstad advanced to third on a throwing error and was awarded home when the ball went out of play. The error perhaps became moot when Josh Monreal, who was batting at the time, subsequently hit a double.

Terhaar, batting for Tanner Ross, drew a one-out walk in the ninth before his 270-foot dash for home on Pavlowich's game-winner.

Pavlowich was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Olson was 2-for-2 to lead Proctor.

Finn Prell and Oscar Timm had two hits apiece for Marshall.

Proctor, 15-8, advances to the semifinals on Tuesday, June 8.
