SUPERIOR -- Aitkin defeated Proctor, 13-0, in the semifinals of the Section 7AA Playoffs at NBC Spartans Sports Complex on Tuesday, June 8. Proctor took on its first loss in the double-elimination segment of the tournament and went on to play against Eveleth-Gilbert immediately following the contest. With the win, the Gobblers advanced to the championship game(s) at Wade Stadium on Thursday, June 10.

Aitkin took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on two triples and a hit batsman.

The Gobblers made it 4-0 in the second on two doubles, a sacrifice hit, and two Proctor errors.

Aitkin scored single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth for a 7-0 lead.

The Gobblers put the game out of reach by scoring six runs in the seventh. They had six hits and one walk along with three Proctor miscues in the inning.

The Rails were held to three hits, a double by Blake Imhoff and singles by Tanner Olson and Kennan Reyelts.

Grant Walker (8-1, 2.40 ERA) took the loss. He allowed four earned runs on seven hits and a hit batsman with one strikeout in three and one-third innings pitched.
