SUPERIOR -- Eveleth-Gilbert defeated Proctor, 3-1, in the elimination round of the Section 7AA Playoffs semifinals. The Golden Bears advanced to the championship game(s) against undefeated Aitkin on Thursday, June 10, at Wade Stadium. Proctor finished its season with a 15-10 record.

Eveleth-Gilbert scored first, a run in the bottom of the second inning, on two hits, a sacrifice fly, and one Proctor error.

The Rails tied the score in the fifth on back-to-back doubles by Tanner Olson and Kennan Reyelts. Reyelts' hit scored Wyatt Okstad, Olson's courtesy runner.

E-G scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth on a hit, a walk, and a Rails error.

Losing pitcher Jake Amendola (4-2 W-L, 3.50 ERA) allowed one earned run on five hits and three walks in six innings. He had four strikeouts.
