PROCTOR -- Hermantown took a 35-34-1 lead in the all-time series by defeating Proctor, 7-1, in a Lake Superior Conference baseball game here on Tuesday.

Four Hawks pitchers combined on a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Starter Dawson Rannow worked three shutout innings and allowed one hit and two walks with five strikeouts. Winning pitcher Cruz Runyan allowed an unearned run on one hit with four strikeouts in an inning and two-thirds. Wylee Arro pitched an inning a third and allowed one walk with one strikeout. River Freeman pitched the final inning and had two strikeouts.

Hermantown, the home team, took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth on three hits, a sacrifice fly, a hit batsman, and a Proctor error.

Proctor responded with a tally in the fifth, but the Hawks plated one run in the fifth and two more in the sixth.

Carter Gunderson was 2-for-3 with a triple, a run, and an RBI, and Rannow was 1-for-2 with a triple, two runs, and an RBI.

Cooper Johnson and AJ Reyelts had Proctor's hits. Blake Imhoff had two stolen bases.

Losing pitcher Grant Walker (1-1, 5.04 ERA) allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits and a hit batsman in three and one-third innings. He had one strikeout.

Proctor, 2-1, is back in action at home against Warroad on Friday.
