PROCTOR -- Proctor defeated Cloquet, 5-3, in a Lake Superior Conference baseball game here on Thursday.

Proctor took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Tanner Ross scored on an RBI groundout by AJ Reyelts.

Cloquet went ahead, 2-1, in the second inning on two hits, a sacrifice fly, and a Proctor error.

The Rails took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the second without the benefit of an RBI. The Rails had two hits and capitalized on two Lumberjacks errors and a balk.

Blake Imhoff's RBI single in the third inning made the score 4-2.

Cloquet cut the lead to 4-3 in the fifth on a hit, an error, a sacrifice bunt, and an RBI groundout.

Nick Terhaar scored the game's final run in the sixth. After reaching base on a double, he later took two bases on an errant throw on a pickoff.

Winning pitcher Kennan Reyelts (2-0, 1.40 ERA) allowed three runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks with one strikeout in five innings. Wyatt Mineheine earned the save with two shutout innings in relief.

Cloquet's Ashton Stansfield went the distance. He allowe five runs (zero earned) on eight hits and two walks with one strikeout.

Ross and Sam Johnson had two hits apiece for the Rails. Qwentin Bailey was 3-for-3 for the Lumberjacks.

Proctor, 6-1, is at International Falls on Saturday, May 7.
