INTERNATIONAL FALLS -- Proctor defeated International Falls, 11-0, in a non-conference baseball game here on Saturday. The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.

Winning pitcher Nick Terhaar (3-0, 0.00 ERA) and reliever Carson Pavlowich combined on a three-hit shutout. Terhaar pitched four innings and allowed one hit and two walks with eight strikeouts. Pavlowich allowed two hits and had two strikeouts in one inning.

Proctor jumped ahead, 2-0, in the first inning on an RBI groundout by AJ Reyelts and an RBI single by Blake Imhoff. The Rails added two more runs in the second on an RBI double by Nolan McLeod and an RBI single by Tanner Olson.

It was the seven-run fourth frame that brought a conclusion to the scoring. Proctor pounded out six hits, including two by Ethan Carter, to go with two walks and to Broncos errors. Tanner Ross, Olson, and Carter hit doubles in the inning.

Carter led the 12-hit attack by batting 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, an RBI, and two stolen bases. McLeod, Olson, and Reyelts had two hits apiece.

Losing pitcher Cody Joslyn allowed 11 runs (10 earned) on nine hits, four walks, and two hit batsmen with no strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings.

Carter joins Scott St. Germaine (vs. Hibbing in 1983) and Ben Harnell (vs. Rush City in 2018) as the only known Rails batters to have two hits in the same inning.

Olson's two hits puts him at 51 for his varsity career. He is the 20th player to join the Rails 50 Career Hits Club.

Proctor, 7-1, travels to Moose Lake-Willow River on Monday, May 9.
