PROCTOR -- Ethan Carter (1-0, 3.11 ERA) tossed a four-hitter for the win in his first varsity start as Proctor won the Lake Superior Conference baseball game here on Monday. He allowed one walk and had three strikeouts.

Tanner Olson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first but the Hawks tied the score with two runs in the third inning.

Ryan Schubitzke drew a bases-loaded walk for the go-ahead run in the fourth.

Josh Summers had two hits for Hermantown.

Proctor’s Sam Johnson was 2-for-3 with a double, a run, and a stolen base, and Nolan McLeod was 2-for-3 with a double.

Losing pitcher Brayden Lundeen allowed three runs on five hits and one walk with one strikeout in three innings.

Proctor, 10-6, evened its all-time series vs. Hermantown, 35-35-1, after losing to the Hawks earlier this season. The Rails are at Crosby-Ironton on Tuesday, May 24.
