DULUTH -- Proctor defeated Moose Lake-Willow River, 12-4, in the first round of the Section 7AA Playoffs at beautiful Wade Stadium on Tuesday.

The Rebels struck first, with three runs in the top of the first inning. Proctor responded with one tally in the first on an RBI triple by Sam Johnson.

The Rails took the lead for good in the third. With one out, Johnson and Nolan McLeod singled on bunt hits and Blake Imhoff reached safely on a fielder's choice bunt to load the bases. Tanner Ross hit a sacrifice fly to score Johnson and Nick Terhaar singled to score McLeod from second for the tying run. Imhoff, who advanced to third on Terhaar's hit, scored the go-ahead run on a balk.

Proctor put the game away with seven runs on five hits, two walks, a hit batsman, and three Rebels errors in the fifth. Tanner Olson banged out a two-run triple in the frame.

Kennan Reyelts hit an RBI single in the sixth for the final Rails run.

Reyelts (5-0, 1.70 ERA) earned the win in relief of Grant Walker. Reyelts pitched four shutout innings and allowed one hit and one hit batsman with four strikeouts. Walker tossed the first, sixth, and seventh innings. He allowed four runs (one earned) on four hits, three walks, and a hit batsman with two strikeouts.

Johnson, McLeod, Ross, and Terhaar had two hits apiece in the Rails' 12-hit attack. Ross had three stolen bases.

Proctor set a new school single-game record with 12 stolen bases. The previous record was 10, set in 2021 vs. Crosby-Ironton.
