DULUTH -- Proctor (#6) defeated Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin (#11), 7-3, in the first round of the Section 7AA Playoffs at Wade Stadium on Tuesday.

Tanner Ross (3-1, 1.06 ERA) tossed a complete game for the win. He allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts.

GNK struck first with a run in the top of the second.

Proctor took the lead for good with two runs in the third on Tanner Ross's RBI triple. Ross scored on an outfield error on the play.

The Rails made the score 3-1 in the fourth. Tyler Berglund led off with a single and advanced to second on an outfield error on the play. He moved to third base on a sacrifice bunt by Wyatt Mineheine and scored on an RBI groundout by Ethan Carter.

Proctor added three insurance runs in the fifth on four consecutive hits, a walk, and two stolen bases. AJ Reyelts and Nick Terhaar hit back-to-back RBI doubles. Berglund had the inning's third RBI on a single that scored Terhaar from second base.

GNK plated two runs in the sixth on two hits, a walk, and a Rails error for a 6-3 score.

Blake Imhoff's RBI double in the sixth ended the scoring and Tanner Ross retired the side in order in the seventh.

Tanner Ross and Berglund had two hits apiece among Proctor's 10 hits. 

GNK finished the season with a 7-9 record.

Proctor (12-8) advanced to face Duluth Marshall (#3), which had defeated Rush City (#14) earlier in the day.
