HIBBING -- Proctor won one and lost two baseball games in the Mike Bugliosi Wood Bat Classic here from May 19-20.

Hibbing 4, Proctor 3

The Hibbing Bluejackets won in dramatic fashion with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the Lake Superior Conference game on Friday, May 19.

The two runs were on one hit, one walk, a sacrifice bunt, and one Proctor error.

Antrell Yoki (0-1, 0.00 ERA) took the loss in his first varsity start. He allowed two hits and three walks with four strikeouts in six and one-third innings.

Tyler Berglund's two-RBI single gave Proctor an early lead in the top of the first inning.

Hibbing answered with one run in the first.

Proctor increased its lead to 3-1 in the fifth when Blake Imhoff walked, stole second, advanced to third on an error, and scored on a passed ball.

Hibbing scored a run in the sixth on one hit and one error.

Proctor 14, Roseau 4 (6 innings)

On Saturday, Proctor avenged last year's loss to Roseau in the Hibbing tournament to even the all-time series at 1-1.

The Rails scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning for a 3-0 lead. Nick Terhaar hit a two-run double in the frame.

Proctor scored three runs in the second inning for a 6-0 lead. The inning featured back-to-back RBI doubles by Tyler Berglund and Terhaar.

Roseau cut the lead in half with a three-run home run in the top of the third.

Proctor padded its lead to 8-3 in the fourth inning on two hits, three walks, a wild pitch, a passed ball, and one Rams error.

Roseau's final run came in the fifth on two hits and an error with no outs before Ethan Carter entered in relief of starter Berglund. Carter retired six of the seven batters he faced to earn the save.

Proctor plated two runs in the fifth and the game ended by the 10-run rule when the Rails scored four runs on three hits and two errors with no outs in the sixth.

Blake Imhoff had three hits, three runs scored, and two RBI. Wyatt Mineheine had three hits, three runs scored, and two RBI. Berglund had two doubles and an RBI. Terhaar had two doubles and four RBI.

Berglund (3-2, 2.31 ERA) earned the win. He allowed four runs (two earned) on 10 hits and one walk with nine strikeouts in four innings pitched.

Cloquet 7, Proctor 5

Proctor nearly erased Cloquet's 7-1 lead with four runs in the top of the seventh, and the Rails had the bases loaded with one out before the Lumberjacks worked out of the jam to win on Saturday afternoon.

The Rails scored a run on an RBI single by Ethan Carter in the sixth to cut into Cloquet's 5-0 lead only to see Cloquet plate two runs in its half the the sixth.

Proctor's last-ditch rally consisted of four walks and two hits, one featuring another RBI by Carter.

Wyatt Mineheine (0-2, 4.24 ERA) took the loss. He allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in four innings pitched.
