VIRGINIA -- Proctor took a nine-run lead into the bottom of the seventh inning a survived a six-run rally to advance to the Section 7AA Playoffs Final Four with a 16-13 victory over defending section champion Duluth Marshall in an elimination bracket game at Frandsen Bank and Trust Field at Rock Ridge High School.

Proctor struck first with six runs in the top of the first. Marshall scored one run in the first for a 6-1 score.

Proctor scored one run in the second and two runs in the third for a 9-1 lead. Marshall plated two runs in the third to make the score 9-3.

The Rails notched another run in the fourth for a 10-3 score. Marshall plated four runs in the fifth to make a 10-7 score.

Proctor scored two runs in the sixth and four runs in the seventh to take a 16-7 lead into the bottom of the seventh.

Marshall plated six runs on four hits, two walks, and a hit batsman but the rally fell short.

Nick Terhaar led Proctor's 15-hit attack with three hits, three runs scored, and an RBI. Blake Imhoff, Tanner Ross, Tyler Berglund, Ethan Carter, and Cooper Johnson had two hits apiece. Cooper Johnson had four RBI.

Carter (3-1, 3.26 ERA) picked up the win in relief of Berglund. Carter allowed four runs on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in one and one-third innings.

Proctor, now 14-9, will face Mora on Tuesday, June 6, at 4:30 p.m.
