CLOQUET, Minn. -- Proctor lost a Lake Superior Conference baseball game to Cloquet at Ed Mettner Field, 3-2. Cloquet scored two runs in the first inning. Proctor tied the score in the top of the second only to lose it again when Cloquet scored a run in the bottom half of the second to finish the game's scoring. Cloquet's Brandon Conklin was two-for-two with two RBIs, including an RBI triple in the first inning.

Gavin Takkunen earned the win for the Lumberjacks. He worked six innings and allowed two runs on six hits, one walk, and two hit batsmen. Conklin earned the save by retiring all three batters he faced in the seventh, leaving the tying run on third base.

Losing pitcher Brandt Forstrom (0-2, 4.32 ERA) worked all six innings for the Rails. He allowed three runs on five hits, five walks, and two hit batsmen. He had four strikeouts.

Jake Malec was two-for-four with a double, an RBI, and a stolen base to lead Proctor (3-5). The Rails travel to Hermantown on Thurs., May 15, for another LSC contest.
