Trojans Trim Agates; Rails Nip Wildcats

Proctor and Central high school baseball teams won opening round games in the District 26 tournament last night and await the winners of tonight's games between Denfeld vs. Esko and Cloquet vs. Hermantown in Municipal stadium.

The Rails registered a 2-0 victory over Morgan Park behind the steady, two-hit pitching of Ronald Ron Main, while the Trojans ousted Two Harbors, 14-3, behind equally good pitching of Steve Lieberman...

Rails Defeat Morgan Park in Initial District 26 Game

Behind the supurb pitching of Ronnie Ron Main, the Proctor Rails tipped the Wildcats from Morgan Park in the initial game of the District 26 baseball tournament by a 2-0 score. The Parkers hit just two balls out of the infield, both of them going for singles, while Proctor pushed across two runs on four hits.

The four Proctor hits came off the bats of Dale Erickson and Ronnie Ron Main. Dale got a double and a single and Ronnie two singles, each man scored a Proctor run.

Main walked one man while 10 were going down via the strikeout route. There were no Proctor errors.
