Esko 12, Proctor 5
Duluth News Tribune, June 14, 1950

...In other first round games Esko dumped Proctor, 12-5, at the latter's park...
Esko exploded for six runs in the seventh inning after the Rails had kept a close tab on the visiting Eskomos. Wildness had its toll in this game, too.
Mel Koivisto, on the mound for the Eskomos, only let up five hits but walked six and struck out 11. Dale Erickson, Proctor's flinger, gave up the same number of bingles, walked 10 and fanned 13...

Rails Lose to Esko in District Match
Proctor Journal, June 15, 1950

Costly errors and numerous walks aided Esko in defeating Proctor 12-5 on the local diamond in first round play of the District 26 high school baseball tournament on Tuesday. Although the Rails' hurler, Dale Erickson, allowed but five hits and struck out 13, ten bases on balls and seven errors by Proctor fielders aided Esko's scoring.
Proctor batters garnered also only five hits off the pitching of Esko's Koivisto, with no player getting over one safety.
Although no schedule has been drawn up as yet, it is believed that the high school nine will play one or two games yet this summer with the Esko, Cloquet, [and] Two Harbors teams.

The first game of the year was with Esko. The Rails didn't fare so well in this game and lost 12 to 5. Dale Erickson pitched a good game striking out 11 [sic] batters.
