Greyhounds Trim Rails
Duluth East scored three runs in the final inning to shade Proctor, 4-2, in a strikeout-filled high school baseball game yesterday at Proctor's field.
The Greyhounds trailed, 2-1, going into the top of the seventh inning before turning a single, two walks and three errors into the game-winning three runs. The single by Bruce Rowlinson was only the second hit off the Rails' Bill Bort.
Bort totaled 14 strikeouts in pitching his two-hitter and East's Mike Goldfine fanned 17 and also recorded a two-hit game.
