...the Proctor Rails were taking the measure of Central's hot and cold Trojans,...as Ronnie Ron Main tossed steady three-hit ball...

High School Nine Notches Initial Victory of Season

Proctor high school nine won its first game of the year by downing the Central Trojans, 7-3, at Ordean field last Friday, June 24.

The Rails were first to score, taking a 2-0 lead in the initial inning and then adding another in the third. The Trojans tied it up in the fifth frame when the Rails' defense fell down with three errors. Knotted at 3-3 until the eighth, the Rails exploded for four runs and the winning margin. Ron Main, the winning pitcher, put the Trojans down 1-2-3 in the last inning.
