EVELETH -- John Aase (1-0 W-L, 0.00 ERA) tossed a no-hitter as Proctor opened its season with an 11-0 win at Eveleth-Gilbert on Tues, April 7. The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule. Aase, a sophomore, earned his first varsity win. He had nine strikeouts and he faced two batters over the minimum: one reached on error and one walk.

Proctor scored four runs in the first, capped by Jordan Linder's two-run single, and added five more in the second. Eveleth-Gilbert committed three errors in each of the first two frames. Proctor gained the 10-run lead in the fifth inning on Matt Morris's RBI triple. Morris scored on a wild pitch for the eleventh run.

Aase, Morris, Aaron Pinney, Johnny Kehtel, and Bryce Huffman scored two runs apiece. Pinney, Kehtel, and Linder registered their first hits at the varsity level. Proctor tallied six hits.

Losing pitcher Mark Tikkanen allowed nine runs (one earned) on four hits, four walks, and one hit batsman in two innings.
