ESKO -- Proctor defeated Esko, 14-4, in a non-conference baseball game at Esko on Friday, April 17. Winning pitcher John Aase (2-1 W-L, 0.58 ERA) tossed three shutout innings in relief, and he batted 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, and four RBIs.

Aase allowed one hit and one walk with one strikeout in his three innings pitched, and Jake Malec pitched a perfect seventh inning to close the game. Offensively, Malec was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Starter Matt Morris worked the first three innings and allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits and no walks with two strikeouts. Morris contributed a 1-for-4 performance at the plate with three runs scored and three RBIs.

Proctor broke a 2-2 tie with a four-run third inning that chased Esko starter and losing pitcher Derek Peterson. Peterson allowed six runs (five earned) on five hits, four walks, and a hit batsman with one strikeout. The Rails tacked on five runs in the sixth and added three more in the seventh.

Nathan Carlson was 2-for-5 with a double, two runs and an RBI, Brandt Forstrom was 2-for-4, including his first varsity hit, with a run and two RBIs, and Dylan Pionk was 2-for-4 with three runs for Proctor.

Nick Emanuel hit a solo home run and Aaron Olson hit a two-run homer for Esko.

Proctor, 4-1, hosts Greenway on Tuesday, April 21 for its home opener.
