Rails, 'Jacks Deadlock For Lead

Proctor and Cloquet ran up convincing victories Friday to jump into a tie for the Big Ten Conference high school baseball lead.

The Rails, like Cloquet now 3-1 in the conference, knocked off previous leader Duluth Central, 12-4. It was the first loss for the Trojans in three games.

...Jerry Sorvari rapped three singles in four at bats to lead a 10-hit Proctor attack against Duluth Central. The Trojans managed eight hits themselves off Rail right-hander Chet Soderberg, but they couldn't overcome an early 5-0 Proctor lead.

Neither team was able to get an extra-base hit in the 18-hit contest...
