Cathedral Dumped by Proctor Nine

The Proctor High Rails grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first three innings and went on to a 7-3 win over the Superior Cathedral High nine Thursday afternoon at Proctor, Minn.

Each team had five hits but Proctor used them to the best advantage along with four Cathedral walks and three errors.

Carlson and Rousse each had two hits for Proctor and Bob Goligoski lead [sic] Cathedral with a pair of singles. Al Graskey's double for Cathedral was the only extra base blow of the game.

Freshman Gene Moselle and Pat Swanson hurled for the Panthers with Moselle going the first four and one-third innings. He gave up the first four Proctor hits. Johnson went the route for Proctor.

Cathedral suffered its third loss out of four starts. The Panthers return to action Saturday as they entertain the Ashland High Oredockers in a noon doubleheader at the Superior Babe Ruth Field. Ed Miller may see his first mound duty this year as a starter in the first game and Dennis Van Massenhove is slated to work the second game on the hill. Swanson will be used as the top relief pitcher.
