Denfeld Derails Proctor

Dave Stano stroked a double in the bottom of the ninth inning to drive in a run and give Denfeld a 9-8 victory over Proctor in a high school baseball game at Wade Stadium Monday.

Rex Bordson, who scored the winning run, led off the ninth with a single for Denfeld and advanced on Tom Hill's infield hit. The Hunters collected 14 hits in the game.

Denfeld, which upped its record to 3-4 with the victory, sent the contest into extra innings by scoring two runs to stay alive in the bottom of the seventh and matching another Proctor run with one of its own in the eighth.

Mike Craine was the winning pitcher for Denfeld, while Bill Moen suffered the loss. Both hurlers went the distance...
