Lakers remain unbeaten
Duluth News Tribune, April 20, 1976

MOOSE LAKE -- Moose Lake used the two-hit pitching of Bruce Lohman and a tie-breaking two-run homer by Dave Ryden in the fifth inning Monday to top Proctor 4-1. It was the unbeaten Lakers' sixth straight victory. They jumped off to a 1-0 lead on Jody Hedin's fourth inning sacrifice fly, but Proctor tied it in the fifth on Chuck [sic] Mark Anderson's RBI single.

Rail nine can't win for losing
Proctor Journal, April 29, 1976

The Proctor Rails baseball team lost their second game of the young season at the hands of Moose Lake at the winners' field. Moose Lake scored an unearned run in the fourth inning, but the Rails came back to tie it up in the fifth on a walk to Jay Nelson, an error, and Mark Anderson's single. Moose Lake won it in their half of the fifth by scoring three runs, two on a home run off losing pitcher Mike Grover.

Moose Lake Star-Gazette, April 29, 1976

On April 19th the Moose Lake Lakers nipped the team from Proctor as the Lakers extended their record to 6-0, with [a] 4-1 win.

The Lakers and the Rails went at it early in the game as neither team could push across any runs. The Lakers had a chance early in the game as they loaded the bases with nobody out in the first inning, but the Rails got the remaining players down in order and got out of the inning without giving up any runs.

The game went scoreless until the fourth inning when the Lakers finally pushed one run across. Peter Jubie scored the lone Laker run after walking and advancing to second on a passed ball [,] scoring on a wild throw in from the outfield.

The Rails came back to score in the fifth inning to tie the game on a Laker error and a bloop hit to center. In the Lakers half of the fifth inning the Lakers pushed across three homre runs to tie the game. Steve Cartie started the rally with a single. After stealing second base, Cartie scored when David Ryden unloaded a 295 ft. home run to left field, to build the Laker lead. Duane Anderson kept the rally going as he singled also. Ted Ryden followed him to base and Bruce Lohman, after a wild pitch, singled to drive in another run. From there the Lakers rally stalled, but they led 4-1.

Laker pitcher, Bruce Lohman, cut down the remaining Proctor batters to preserve the victory, and his fourth pitching victory against no losses.
