Proctor scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning for a 2-1 Lake Superior Conference high school baseball victory over Central Thursday afternoon.

The victory, the Rails' first in conference play, ended a five-game losing streak.

Ken Elnes and Mike Grover drove in the runs for Proctor to support the three-hit pitching of Dale Nikko, who struck out nine.

Lee Kolquist was the losing pitcher.

The Rails won their first Lake Superior Conference game of the season last Thursday as they defeated the Trojans, 2-1, at Wade Stadium. Central scored in the second inning when they got two of their three hits. Proctor came back in the fourth to score the winners. Joe Gaboury led off with a triple to right field and scored on Ken Elnes' single. Elnes stole second on an attempted bunt, went to third on Jay Nelson's single and scored as the throw to home got away from the Central catcher. Dale Nikko was the winning pitcher as he struck out eight and walked only one.
