Catcher Mark Wuoti drove in four runs with two-run singles in the first and fifth innings to lead Two Harbors to a 6-4 victory over Proctor in a Lake Superior Conference high school baseball game at Proctor Tuesday.
Proctor outhit the Agates 8-7, getting two hits apiece from Mike Grover and John Baublitz, but Two Harbors took advantage of four Rails' errors to notch the victory, its third in seven league games.
Ron Barthell was credited with the victory, aided not only by Wuoti but by Bob Nartonis, who had three hits, including a double.

 

TWO HARBORS 6 - PROCTOR 4

The Two Harbors Agates made good use of their seven hits to down the Rails, 6-4, last week at Proctor.
Two Harbors scored two in the first and fifth and added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings. The Rails scored one in the fourth on John Baublitz' double and Mike Grover's single. In the fifth they scored twice, on a walk to Jeff Merling an error, and a single by Ken Elnes and a double by Jay Nelson. The final run was tallied in the sixth as pinch runner Dan Seguin scored on an error on Mike Hudspith's ground ball.

TH - The Agate baseball team split two games the past week, beating Proctor, then losing to Denfeld.
Against Proctor, the Agates won, 6-4. Ron Barthell picked up his third win, scattering eight hits. Scott Ross and Bob Nartonis led the nine-hit attack with three hits apiece, while Mike Wuoti had two hits and four RBI.
Denfeld beat Two Harbors, 11-3, although John Johnson allowed only five hits, with nine runs being unearned. The Agates scored their runs when Nartonis doubled, Wuoti walked, and Scott Gulan lined a single to center. Barthell's single scored two, then Ross chased Gulan home on a single to center.
The Agates concluded their regular season against Central on May 17. They open tourney play on may 25.
