The Superior Senior High nine overpowered Proctor High, 12-2 [sic], Saturday on the Superior field.
The Spartans had only eight hits but took advantage of 10 walks and an error.
Todd Florey, who has been hitting the ball real well for the Spartans, had two-for-two and scored four runs.
Mike Susens tagged a three-run homer for the winners in the second inning.
After taking a 3-1 lead in the second inning, Superior struck for five runs in the third frame, one in the fourth and three in the fifth, in the six-inning contest. The Rails tallied in the second inning.
Tim Bouvine, who went five and two-thirds innings, held the Rails to two hits. He took his third win against two losses while fanning five men and walking two.
Superior, 8-2 on the year, faced Duluth East Monday in Duluth.
