Proctor finishes LSC perfect 9-0
Pitcher Nik Peterson checked Morgan Park on six hits as Lake Superior Conference champion Proctor finished up it conference schedule with a 5-1 victory and a 9-0 LSC record Thursday afternoon at Wade Stadium.
Peterson, 4-0 for the Rails this spring, held Park scoreless until the fifth inning.
Peterson also contributed two singles to Proctor's eight-hit attack. Dave Lockwood had a single, a triple and an RBI and teammate Mike Woods added two singles and two RBI.
Brad Huffman, the losing pitcher, led Morgan Park with two hits. Tony Abbott also had a pair of singles for the Wildcats.
The Rails are 10-2 overall. Morgan Park is 10-5 and 6-3 in the league. The Wildcats will share second place with the winner of today's Hermantown-Cloquet game.
