Denfeld ends Rails' league streak at 22

Dave Nelson's two-run home run sparked Denfeld to a 5-3 win over Proctor Monday in Proctor. The loss broke Proctor's 22-game Lake Superior Conference winning streak.

The win was Denfeld's fifth straight.

A Proctor home run by Tony Dincau tied the game at 1-1 after one inning, but the Hunters then scored four straight times.

Nelson brought in Rod Zivkovich with his home run in the second inning for a 3-1 Denfeld lead. Larry Pajari and Tom Larson added RBI singles in the fifth to move ahead 5-1.

Proctor scored in the bottom of the sixth on an infield out and a wild pitch to get within 5-3.

Denfeld pitchers Todd Solarz and Pajari combined for 13 strikeouts. Pajari, working the final 4 1/3 innings, earned the victory.

Denfeld is now 3-0 in the league and Proctor 3-1.
