Kyle Wojtysiak had two hits, two RBIs and scored twice as the Rails (9-8) won the five-inning game at home.

Dan Solarz had two hits and two RBIs and Dustin Wiita had a single and an inside-the-park homer.

Winning pitcher Jesse Frick threw a two-hitter with four strikeouts.

Proctor Rails baseball playoffs underway

The Rails trounced Eveleth-Gilbert in just five innings.

Jesse Frick went the distance on the pitcher's mound for the Rails to pick up the win. He allowed just two hits and two walks, while striking out four batters.

The Rails scored five runs in the bottom of the third, and another five runs in the fifth to end the game. The 10th run was scored in the bottom of the [fifth].

The Golden Bears' lone run run came in the top of the first before the Rails shut them down completely.

Blake Reinke scored three times for the Rails and Kyle Wojtysiak and Chris Hansen scored twice.
