Proctor scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning on consecutive home runs by Jake Comnick, Dan Solarz and Ryan Vanderscheuren to beat the Golden Bears in Virginia.

Proctor scored four runs in the first inning. Kyle Wojtysiak scored first, when Jake Comnick rapped a home run to score two runs. Dan Solarz and Ryan Vanderscheuren also hit home runs, giving the Rails a 4-1 lead.

In the first and second inning[s] the Eveleth-Gilbert Golden Bears scored three runs.

The Rails held the Golden Bears scoreless in the third while plating four to give the Rails the 8-3 lead.

Four more runs were scored in the top of the fourth and fifth innings by Eveleth-Gilbert.

What spelled out the winning score came in the bottom half of the sixth inning when Vanderscheuren was hit by a pitch and scored later. Dustin Wiita and Jesse Frick each reached base on errors and scored minutes later on an error. The Rails won 11-7.
