Hardball wins opener at Dome, spends break in Beloit

by The Sports Guy

Proctor's boys baseball team won their season opener 9-3 against Milaca. The game was held at the Metrodome in Minneapolis on Mon., April 3.

Senior Dan Carlson was the winning pitcher. Carlson also had two hits and two runs batted in (RBI's).

[Justin Flizen] proved to be as handy off his hockey skates as he is on them. The Proctor junior batted for two hits, with two RBI's.

Senior Dan Solarz had three runs for the Rails.

The baseball team enjoyed a working vacation on the high school spring break, setting up camp in the Beloit, Wis., area to ensure some warmer weather (and dry fields) for practice. The team returns to Proctor for a Thursday game at Egerdahl Field, conditions permitting. The Rails take on the Virginia Blue Devils in a listed 4:30 game for varsity, 6:30 for JV.
