Baseball team earns split during rainy week

by The Sports Guy

Dodging rainstorms, the Proctor boys baseball team managed to salvage two of their three scheduled games last week. The Rails beat Superior 8-4 at home on Tues., May 9, lost their Greenway game on Wed. to Mother Nature, and fell to host Cloquet 5-2 on Thurs.

Dan Solarz sparked Proctor to the win over Superior. Solarz hit two base runners home and had two runs himself. Kevin Schubert was the winning pitcher for the Rails, going all seven innings with two strikeouts while allowing only one walk. Drew Scherber accounted for two of Proctor's runs. The victory brings Proctor's season record to 8-2-1...
