HERMANTOWN -- Proctor defeated Mora in an elimination game in the Section 7AA Final Four tournament at Don Fichtner Memorial Field, and advanced to the semi-finals. Pat Everson broke a personal seven-game hitless streak with a two-run go-ahead single in the bottom of the sixth inning and winning pitcher Jake Lewis pitched a scoreless seventh inning to keep the Rails alive in the double-elimination tournament.
 
Lewis (7-1, 1.88 ERA, 52.0 IP) pitched his seventh complete game of the season. He allowed three earned runs on seven hits, three walks and a hit batsman. He had six strikeouts. Lewis became the first PHS pitcher to win seven games in a season since Ray Miles in 1982.
 
Mora scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning on two hits, two errors, and a passed ball to tie the score 5-5.
 
Ryan McCarthy was one-for-three with a run and three RBIs, Tyler Pionk was one-for-two with two runs and an RBI, and Justin Scanlon was two-for-three with a run and an RBI for the Rails.
 
Mora, the two-time defending section champion, lost to Hermantown 6-5 last Thursday at Nashwauk. Proctor lost to Cloquet 7-2 at Wade Stadium last Thursday. Proctor will now face Cloquet, which lost to Hermantown 3-1 in eight innings prior to the Proctor/Mora game, also at Hermantown.
