HERMANTOWN -- Cloquet defeated Proctor in the semi-finals of the Section 7AA Final Four and will play against Hermantown at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 10 at Wade Stadium for the section championship. It was the second time Cloquet defeated Proctor in the Final Four tournament. Last Thursday, Cloquet won 7-2 at Wade Stadium in the first round of the four-team double-elimination tournament.

 

Cloquet scored a run in the bottom of the third inning on two hits, a walk, and an error. The Lumberjacks added three more runs in the fourth inning on four hits.

 

Losing pitcher Alex Oachs (6-3, 2.87 ERA, 53.2 IP) pitched his sixth complete game of the season. He allowed three earned runs on eight hits and two walks. He had three strikeouts.

 

Proctor was limited to three hits: a single by Justin Scanlon in the first inning, a single by Ian Scherber in the second inning, and a single by Reed Olson in the fourth inning. Proctor left the bases loaded in the fourth and sixth innings.

 

Proctor finished with a 15-7 record, setting a new school record for wins in a season.
