PROCTOR -- Hermantown slugged out 15 hits as the Hawks defeated Proctor 10-2 in the first round of the double-elimination Final Four tournament of the Section 7AA Playoffs at Proctor.
 
Winning pitcher Jesse Olson allowed one earned run on three hits and six walks in a complete game effort. He had eight strikeouts.
 
Joe Muench was four-for-four with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Cody Baker was three-for-four with a run and three RBIs for Hermantown.
 
Ben Nelson (4-1, 3.21 ERA) picked up the loss. He allowed five earned runs on 11 hits and zero walks in four innings.
 
Hermantown advances to the winner's bracket and will face Mora at 2:00 p.m. on June 7 at Hibbing.
 
Proctor will face Virginia in an elimination game at 4:30 p.m. on June 7 at Hibbing.
