East's rally in bottom of 8th sinks Proctor

Ryan Carlson had a two-run, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the eighth inning to lead Duluth East to a 4-3 Lake Superior Conference win over Proctor in a high school baseball game Tuesday at Ordean Field.

Proctor had taken a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth when Brent Bordson scored on Erick Lundgren's squeeze bunt.

Jim Crowley got the win by pitching two innings and giving up one unearned run. Crowley also had two hits and an RBI. Carlson had three hits and three RBIs for East, 4-4 overall and 3-1 in the LSC.

Losing pitcher Scott McLeod went the distance for the Rails, giving up eight hits and striking out six. Mike Davis had a two-run double for Proctor, 4-2 overall, 2-2 in the LSC.
