Rails' sluggers rally up upend Hawks

Things looked tough for the Proctor Rails baseball team last Tuesday, as they faced arch-rival Hermantown on the baseball field.

Heading into the bottom half of the third inning, the Rails were trailing 5-1 and things looked bleak. However, the Rails did manage to rally to come back to notch the huge 9-5 thumping of the visiting Hawks.

The Proctor trio of Luke Wargin, Aaron Slattengren, and Jack Hom all did their Sammy Sosa impersonations as they lofted the red-stitched orb over the outfield fence.

In addition, Slattengren turned in the winning effort from the mound with a complete game under his belt.

The win moved the Rails to within one game of the .500 mark, as Proctor came away sporting the 3-4 Lake Superior Conference mark.

Proctor is slated to take on Esko in a home game May 16, Tues. afternoon in the only scheduled action of the week.
