Hardballers top Marshall, lose to Esko and Carlton

Wins have been few and far between for the Proctor High School baseball team, so those victories the team grabs are as sweet as they can be.

Such was the case this past week as the Rails sandwiched in a big victory over Duluth Marshall between losses to Esko and Carlton...

Carlton 10, Proctor 6

Proctor jumped out to a 4-1 first-inning lead in a game played at Egerdahl Field. However, seven errors doomed the Rails.

"Whenever you make seven errors in a game you cannot expect to win," remarked [coach] Rohweder.

Proctor scored two more runs, while giving up nine to the Bulldogs.

Travis Olsen took the loss for the Rails, who are now looking ahead to playoff action which is slated to get underway next week. Seeding meetings will be held over the weekend to decide where Proctor will be opening their playoff experience.
